Why Vika
Making Japan’s food information easier to review, even when a barcode is not enough.
Vika organizes reference information about food additives and lets you manually record products that cannot be found by barcode.
Manual entries are currently stored on your device.

Barcode Gap
In Japan, barcode data is not always enough
Some regions have well-developed product databases, but in Japan a barcode search may not always return ingredient or additive information.
That is why Vika lets you enter a product name and ingredients manually, so products that cannot be found by barcode can still be reviewed later.
Manual Input
Manual input can become your own additive-score reference database
Once you enter a product, it remains as a record on your device. Over time, your frequently purchased foods become easier to review for you and your family.
Enter a product name and ingredients
Save it with a product photo
Review scores and reference information
Look back through your food history
How It Works
Manual input should still feel simple
Suggestions and common additive shortcuts make long ingredient names easier to enter. Once saved, the product can be opened again from its barcode whenever you need it.
Vision
